DID JOSEPH SMITH CHANGE HIS DOCTRINE THAT GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOD?

“For I know that God is not a partial God, neither a changeable being; but he is unchangeable from all eternity to all eternity.” —Moroni 8:18, Book of Mormon

Did Joseph Smith preach a “changeable” God who has not always been “God from all eternity”?

“I am going to tell you how God came to be God.  We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity.  I will refute that idea.…he was once a man like us; yea, that God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did…” —Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp. 345-346

Is Joseph Smith’s God an “other god”?

“…even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”—Psalm 90:2

“If there arise among you a prophet… saying, ‘Let us go after other gods…’ Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet… And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death….” —Deuteronomy 13:1-3, 5
