Leaving Mormonism

Leaving Mormonism.:HOW CAN I LEAVE THE MORMON CHURCH IF IT TEARS MY MARRIAGE APART?

“I am presently a part of the LDS Church, but I was also raised a Jehovah’s Witness. Years ago, I was convinced that Jehovah’s Witnesses were in error, so I tried unsuccessfully to “fit in” at what are considered more “orthodox” churches. I even accepted Christ after leaving the Jehovah’s Witnesses, but I’ve always had doubts about my salvation, wondering if I should be doing something more to secure my salvation. It was while I was searching for a church that I became interested in the Mormon Church because these people seemed to take their faith seriously. I joined it and about four years ago, I met my present wife who was raised Mormon and is active in the Church. While I have come to feel the LDS Church is in error, based on my personal Scripture study and prayer, I am hesitant to leave it. Where will I go? How would leaving affect my marriage? How can I leave the Mormon Church and go to another one if it tears our marriage apart?Continue reading How can I leave Mormonism if it tears my marriage apart?

How can I meet Ex-Mormons in my area?

Freedom

exldsmeetup.: HOW CAN I MEET EX-MORMONS IN MY AREA?

“I recently left the Mormon Church and I miss the fellowship I had with my friends and family in the Church. How can I meet other Ex-Mormons in my area who understand what I am going through?”

OUR RESPONSE:

Dear friend,

You must feel so lonely. It is hard to leave the LDS Church, not only because you lose the spiritual and emotional friends and family support you received in the Church, but also because you face many fears, doubts, and confusing thoughts as you work to reevaluate everything you had been taught as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The loss of this spiritual identity can be one of the hardest aspects of leaving to overcome. Continue reading How can I meet Ex-Mormons in my area?

How to remove your name from the LDS Chuch’s membership records

LDS Temple

.:HOW TO REMOVE YOUR NAME FROM THE LDS CHURCH’S MEMBERSHIP RECORDS

If you want to have your name removed from the LDS Church’s membership records, you must make your letter strong and to the point.  Although some may feel that this type of approach is too harsh, we have learned that if you do not make it forceful in this manner, they will delay your request and harass you as to your reasons for leaving with the hopes of getting you to change your mind. We know it works, and anyone wanting to remove their name can use the following format and sample letter.  Many people are afraid to be this stern, but it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!  Below is a copy of the cover information that one Ex-Mormon couple used to remove their names from the LDS Church’s records. They testified that when they used this format:

“We received a response before the 30 days were up and a letter stating that our names had been removed, but they wanted to make that sure we knew what we were doing because it would jeopardize our eternal salvation, and they would be more than happy to have us return to the church.  What a joke.  We are happy to be free at last!” Continue reading How to remove your name from the LDS Chuch’s membership records

.:APOSTASY – THE GREAT APOSTASY

Under the “The Restoration of Truth – The Great Apostasy” section of mormon.org we read:

“Following the death of Jesus Christ… The Apostles were killed and the priesthood authority—including the keys to direct and receive revelation for the Church—was taken from the earth (2 Thessalonians 2:1–3). Because the Church was no longer led by priesthood authority and revelation, error crept into Church teachings. Good people and much truth remained, but the gospel as established by Jesus Christ was lost, resulting in a period called the Great Apostasy. Continue reading Apostasy

.:GOD OUR FATHER – GOD IS YOUR LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER

The first section of the Mormon Church’s website is entitled “Restoration of Truth.” Mormonism teaches that all other churches of Christianity possess only part of God’s truth while the Mormon Church is the only Christian church that possesses the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thus, we will spend the majority of our review of the LDS Church’s website examining this section. The first page in this “Restoration of Truth” section of the 2007 mormon.org website, under the section entitled, “God is Your Loving Heavenly Father” they state: Continue reading God Our Father
