The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claims to have restored both the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods, but how does this align with Scripture? According to the Bible, the Aaronic Priesthood was strictly limited to male descendants of Aaron, serving between the ages of 30 and 50 (Numbers 4:3; Exodus 29:9). Jesus Himself, a descendant of Judah rather than Levi, could never have qualified (Hebrews 7:14). Yet in the LDS Church, boys as young as 12 are ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood — a clear departure from the biblical standard.
Even more striking is the claim of the Melchizedek Priesthood. Scripture declares that Christ holds this priesthood “unchangeably” (Hebrews 7:24), meaning it is eternal and cannot be transferred to any other mortal. Hebrews 5:10 affirms that Jesus was made a high priest by God’s oath, and His priesthood is perfect and eternal—something no human could replicate.
This video carefully compares the biblical design of the priesthood with Mormon practices, highlighting serious inconsistencies. How can the LDS Church claim a “restoration” of priesthood authority when it disregards the requirements God Himself set? The Bible reminds us that God’s ways are perfect and unchanging (Psalm 18:30; Malachi 3:6), and that Christ alone is our eternal High Priest (Hebrews 4:14–16).
Join us as we explore why true priesthood authority is found only in Jesus Christ, not in man-made systems that contradict Scripture.
